About Us

The Dance Extension is in it's 34th year as the premier Dublin dance studio. We bring together the best instructors regionally to offer diverse instruction to our new and experienced students in the best physical dance facility in the region. We are committed to providing dancers of all ages, from the smallest kids to adults, with quality dance and performing arts instruction. Our dance instruction includes all aspects of classical dance including ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, contemporary, breaking and hip hop taught in an encouraging and safe environment.   We offer classes in acting, preschool movement programs, dance themed mommy-and-me, and dance classes for toddlers to inspire even the youngest dancer. Students may choose a pre-professional training level program or a number of recreational single class offerings

Instructional Staff

Judy Teets

Judy, owner of Dance Extension, graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelors degree in Human Resource Management, and pursued her first career as a Human Resource Administrator. Following in the footsteps of her father, Judy has always been a lifelong supporter and participant in the performing arts and music, and from theater to creative problem solving. As a Destination Imagination Coach she lead her team of 5th graders to the global finals. Most recently as a pre-K teacher her team reached a 5 star 'Step Up to Quality' ranking from the Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Judy continues her love of teaching children by leading the dance themed Mommy Let's Dance and Let's Pretend programs. The highlight of her day is the frequent hugs she receives from current and former students and watching her own daughter teach classes at the studio.

Jennifer "DJ" Latham

Jennifer, know as “DJ” to her dance students is DX Studio Director. Born and raised in Ashland, Ohio, DJ began her dance training with Opus II Dance Studio under the instruction of Hellie Schussler. She became well versed in ballet, jazz, modern and tap techniques. While at Opus II she was able to dance with the school’s pre-professional company, Ashland Regional Ballet. She attended summer intensive study programs at BalletMet, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and was a cast member of Blue Lake International Exchange Program’s European and U.S. Ballet Tour in 1999. Jennifer received a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theater from Coastal Carolina University. Jennifer returned home to Ashland and began teaching for Opus II and served as Ballet Mistress with Ashland Regional Ballet (ARB). She performed as a professional member with ARB dancing numerous roles in The Nutcracker, Firebird, many other original ballets and pieces, as well as choreographing many original works for the company’s repertoire along with staging many scenes for several ballets. She has also danced as a guest artist with NEOS Dance Theatre. Jennifer has served as Choreographer for productions of Nunsense, South Pacific, Oklahoma!, The Sound of Music, Annie, The Music Man, and Seussical the Musical with St. Peter’s High School in Mansfield, Ohio, also including Damn Yankees and The Pajama Game for The Ohio State University- Mansfield. Jennifer resides in Columbus with her husband, Matthew and their daughter, Maylyn who is now a Dance Extension student!

Britt Richey

Britt, Assistant Studio Director and instructor, is a former Dance Extension and Collaborative Dance Project (CDP) dancer who brings years of experience to the studio. While dancing as a student at DX, she worked with numerous choreographers including, Mitzi Adams, Tercell Waters, Jody Dombrowski, Zelma Bustillo, Angelina Karlo and more. Britt graduated from the University of Cincinnati with her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. During the day, Britt is an elementary Physical Education teacher with the Upper Arlington School district. Britt’s goal with her Dance Extension dancers is to instill life lessons on time management, organization, physicality, and creative expression. She brings her passion for dance and teaching to all of her classes and builds relationships with a strong sense of family at the studio!

Madison Hedge

Madison, DX Competition Director and Instructor, is a 2018 graduate of The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business. From Perrysburg, OH, she earned her degree in Human Resource Management along with a minor in Economics. While attending OSU, Madi was a Business Scholar and Office of Student Life Intern. A 4 year participant of the OSU Dance Team, Madi was the 2018 OSU Dance Team Captain, when they won their first UDA Division 1A Collegiate National Championships in both jazz and pom. During the day, Madi works in corporate recruiting and human resources. As an instructor and DX Competition Director, Madi instills her love of dance and performance along with important life skills such as time management, perseverance, and creativity to our dancers.

Brianna Rhodes

Brianna Rhodes is a 2019 graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Dance. She was a former Dayton Contemporary Dance Company fellow in 2019 - 2020. Currently, she is a dance teacher educating individuals of all ages throughout Columbus and working with world renowned, Dianne McIntrye. Her professional career has allowed her to travel the world performing with more opportunities to come. Brianna has a large movement vocabulary ranging from Ballet, Modern, and Contemporary, to Afrofusion (a self defined term incorporating the culmination of social dance styles, like Afrobeats, Dancehall, Hip Hop, House, Voguing and Waacking, that all derived from people of the African Diaspora). Everything Brianna creates and teaches comes from a point of view determined to bring equality to all. Her favorite African Proverb to live by which keeps her moving every day is, “I am because we are, and because we are; therefore I am.” .

Abbie Armbrecht

Abbie began teaching at Dance Extension in 2019 while attending The Ohio State University. Majoring in dance and accounting, Abbie received her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in 2021. She is currently dancing with Whirlwind Dance as a Mover|Maker and works for a public accounting firm. As a former competition dancer, Abbie brings her experience performing, competing, and choreographing to our DX dancers. Previously from Cleveland, OH, she taught and choreographed for various ages with Miss Kristin’s Dance School. Abbie performed in several concerts through the OSU dance department and has worked with dance professionals including Daniel Roberts, Karen Eliot, and Eddie Taketa. She is thrilled to be a part of Dance Extension’s staff and bring her enthusiasm, expertise, and love of dance to our dancers!

Haley Armbrecht

Haley is a junior at The Ohio State University currently on the Pre-PT track, majoring in Health Sciences with a minor in dance. Originally from Cleveland, OH, she grew up as a competition dancer at Miss Kristin's Dance Studio. She began assisting at the age of 12 and began teaching at the age of 18. Haley has recently choreographed the past two competition seasons for her home studio in jazz and tap. As a member of Dance Connections at OSU, she is currently on the executive board as Secretary while taking part in fundraising, performing, and choreographing for the club. Last spring Haley performed in Ohio State's senior concert within the dance program. She is eager to share her love of dance with her students and is excited to be a part of the DX family!

Rachel Teets

Rachel began dancing at the age of 3 at Dance Extension. As a member of our DX Dance Company, Rachel competed in local dance competitions and was a founding member of DX’s pre-professional group, Parallel 40 Dance Collective. Rachel graduated from Dublin Coffman HS in 2021 and began her college career at The Ohio State University, majoring in Primary Education with a minor in American Sign Language. While at OSU, she became a level 3 group fitness instructor and became certified in Zumba. Rachel also serves as a group fitness format lead where she facilitates the training of new instructors through Ohio State’s BuckeyeFit program. In addition, she holds a director position in Alpha Gamma Delta, is the Commodore of The Ohio State Sailing Team, is on the Dean’s list, and has received numerous academic and leadership scholarships. Rachel is excited to be back at Dance Extension to share her passion for both dance and teaching.

Olivia Gitters

Olivia is a Junior at The Ohio State University majoring in dance and minoring in education. While at OSU, she has performed in multiple repertory shows as well as student teaching in a variety of Columbus City Schools. Originally from Baltimore Maryland, Olivia attended St. Paul’s School for Girls, where she trained in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acro, Pointe, and Musical Theater. During this time, she developed a multitude of skills from dance composition, technique, and arts leadership. Additionally, Olivia danced at The Dance Conservatory Baltimore from 2006- 2021 where she danced competitively and attended regional competitions and conventions. Olivia has held several teaching positions including teaching at her home studio in Baltimore and more recently teaching at Fort Hayes High School in Columbus. Olivia loves sharing her passion for dance with young dancers and is thrilled to be a part of the DX staff.

Regina Habedank

Regina grew up as a competition dancer at West Chester Academy located in West Chester, Ohio. In the summers, she returned to your home studio and taught tap during their competition Intensive Camps In addition, Regina has had the opportunity to take master classes from the Radio City Rockettes and Aladdin Broadway Cast. A senior at The Ohio State University, Regina is majoring in Health Sciences and is on the Pre-Physical Therapy track while minoring in dance. She is the President of Buckeyes on Tap as well as a student choreographer. In addition to performing in their Spring and Autumn showcases, Buckeyes on Tap has performed at many community events around Columbus. Regina is excited to bring her love of dance, especially Tap to our DX Dancers!

Hannah Eversole

Hannah began dancing at the age of 2 at South Dayton School of Dance and quickly became a member of their company, South Dayton Dance Theater. As a company member, she learned from guest choreographers and performed in the annual festival, Regional Dance America. Hannah also attended numerous summer intensives including Louisville Ballet, Nashville Ballet, Ballet Austin and Pointe Park University and taught at various studios such as Kids Are Tops and Dayton School of Dance. A student at The Ohio State University, she is majoring in Public Health with a minor in Business. While at OSU, Hannah trained as a Fitness Instructor through BuckeyeFit where she teaches Cardio Dance Fitness. She is also a member of Momentum Club at OSU where she continues to develop her ballet and performance skills. Hannah is thrilled to be sharing her dance and fitness skills with our DX Family!

Nate Arehart

Nate is a 2022 graduate from Bishop Watterson High School. From Columbus, OH, he is currently attending The Ohio State University, studying Biomedical Engineering. Nate has been dancing since he was 8 years old. He learned break dancing right from the beginning and has attended Monster Dance Conventions, where he learned break dancing and hip -hop from choreographers who work with pop stars. Outside the studio, Nate has a passion for photography and videography. He is excited to be an instructor sharing his passion for break dancing, which is a unique way of self-expression and creativity through dance along with teaching the importance of strength and creativity both in the studio and in life.
